Frequently asked questions
What does a 4-storey, 1,000 m² hotel need?
Table A.1 row 18: automatic alarm required (≥ 3 storeys); below 5 storeys and 1,500 m² standalone detectors are allowed; suppression not required (fire height < 25 m and < 5,000 m²). Extinguishers, emergency lighting and exit signs are still required.
Does a 2,000 m² category C factory need design appraisal?
Yes. Under Annex III of Decree 347/2026, category C factories are covered from 15,000 m³ volume or 2,000 m² floor area ⚠ check the original.
Which regulation replaced TCVN 2622 and TCVN 3890 for provisions?
From 30 Dec 2025 provisions follow QCVN 10:2025/BCA. TCVN 3890:2023 remains voluntary and the QCVN prevails where they differ; TCVN 2622:1995 is not used for new designs.
